Do you really think so? That God's very existence
depends on our belief? Isn't it the other way around?This particular quote is from _I and Thou_, pg 82 in
my copy [2nd edition, Smith trans.]. Buber goes on
to say that the reason you & I need God is for our
very existence, but "God needs you, for the very
meaning of your life [. . .] The world is not divine sport,
it is divine destiny. There is divine meaning in the life
of the world, of man, of human persons, of you and of
me."
