As an answer to: Moral Obligation written by Richard Bay at 27 Apr 2000 00:58:58:

>What is the source of Buber's moral obligation? and How close is his source to the concept of, "Do your own thing." Please Expalin Appreciate any and all responces!

>I'm a little confused by your question. I don't think there is any obligation. Our rules of conduct are an expession of our inability to enter I-Thou. To paraphrase when we enter I-Thou we enter with our whole being, sacrificing any preconceptions, or agendas. The Thou of our relation is an end and not a means to an end and so we hold them sacred and need no obligation to curbe our conduct.
